Auckland is the largest and most northerly city in New Zealand, and stands as the gateway to some of the most beautiful and interesting parts of the country as well as being a fascinating and enjoyable destination in its own right. Life in Auckland is centred on the harbour, and it is the marina with its fluttering sails and flags that gives Auckland its nickname: The City of Sails.
Auckland itself offers many interesting attractions including the famous SkyTower - the tallest building in the southern hemisphere - which offers a casino, and a bungee platform that allows people to throw themselves from the top!
Auckland is the perfect base from which to explore New Zealand's tropical north, and from the city you can tour several beautiful areas including the Bay of Islands, and see Ninety Mile Beach, or head south to the stunning Volcanic landscapes of Rotorua in the centre of the large New Zealand wine making region.
