Auckland International Airport is the largest and busiest airport in New Zealand, and handles around 70% of all international arrivals to the country. It lies beside Manukau Harbour around 21 kilometres south of the city centre with efficient transport links to the surrounding area.
The airport terminal building is around 45 minutes by road from the main city centre area, and there are excellent transport links including taxis, discount buses, and car hire available for tourists.
The airport has more than 100 shops along with a selection of restaurants, and other amenities including VIP transit lounges for business class passengers. All public areas of Auckland International Airport are wheelchair accessible.
